I Hand Out My NFL Awards!!

Well, football season is almost over (sad face), but the positive? I GET TO HAND OUT SOME COMPLETELY WORTHLESS AWARDS THAT HAVE NO MONETARY VALUE!!! Go moral victories! But, now on to the good stuff:

MVP:

TOM BRADY, PATRIOTS: As much as it pains me to say it, he wins. He did exceptional during a 14-2 regular season, throwing for 3900 yards, 36 touchdowns, and only 4 interceptions. He did so without really having a proven deep threat (Brandon Tate doesn't count, he's not PROVEN.) However, his numbers were inflated (like they always are) by a simple passing scheme, consisted of throwing a 5-7 yard pass and watching his receivers do the work.

OFFENSIVE POY:

JAMAAL CHARLES, CHIEFS: This decision came after much contemplating and many sleepless minutes of blood, sweat, and tears by myself. I give the award to Charles, mainly because he beasted it up. His 6.4 yards per carry was the best average since Jim Brown in the 60s, who may be the greatest running back of all time. Charles finished only 149 yards behind rushing leader Arian Foster, despite having 97 fewer carries. Add in his pass catching skills, and it ended up being a no-brainer.

DEFENSIVE POY:

CLAY MATTHEWS, PACKERS: Matthews was the most dominating defensive player this season. He made big plays seemingly every quarter, and you knew it was going to happen. The sad thing is, Troy Polamalu was the player who won the award, which is a bunch of bull****. Polamalu wasn't even the best safety in his own conference (Ed Reed) nor the best defensive back in the NFL (Charles Woodson, Darrelle Revis, Antoine Bethea), but the stupid voters gave it to the least-deserving player. But we all know who should have won.

OFFENSIVE ROY:

SAM BRADFORD, RAMS: Bradford took a team that had just picked 1st overall (that's bad) to being one game away from a playoff berth (that's good.)  He did so in a rookie-friendly offensive system, consisting of screens, slants, play actions, and draws. Bradford will be the best quarterback in the NFL in 5 years. Mark my words.

DEFENSIVE POY:

TIE: ERIC BERRY, CHIEFS/NDAMUKONG SUH, LIONS: This took the most thought. Both rookies played well, and I just couldn't pick between the two. Suh had 10 sacks (great for a DT) and Berry had 90 tackles and 4 picks (really good for a rookie safety.) Both players played so well and were so important to their teams. It looks as if they both get a moral victory!

Well, that's it for now. I'll have some more awards soon, including some gag awards and funny stuff possibly!

Alex
