I STILL HATE THE NFL
Ok, I need to vent about several things. First off, there's something called a "Tim Tebow" who is taking the NFL by storm. This is extremely painful for me, as I am a Tebow hater. I absolutely hate that he is having a little bit of success, and I would probably punch something if I wasn't so afraid of hurting myself. I just don't understand why this dude is winning. I mean, it could be that he is playing in the worst division in the NFL (even worse than you NFC West) or maybe that NFL defenses are RETARDED!!!! Seriously, I have an idea that's so crazy it just might work. Why don't you just blitz? If you blitz enough guys, then there won't be any room for McGahee or that Tebow guy to run. Some of you may say, "Well, if you blitz, then won't he receivers wide open?" Yes, you are absolutely correct, and I would be fine with that. Have you seen Tebow throw? It's actually kind of scary watching it! I mean, that's some awful mechanics! I don't know too much about the mechanics of an NFL quarterback, but I'm pretty sure this isn't how you do it. Well, that's it for my Tebow bashing.
Oh, by the way, the Colts are really bad, worse then I thought. Like awfully bad. Seriously, it's a bad site to behold. At least there's always Andrew Luck!

NFL MIDSEASON AWARDS/ PLAYOFF PREDICTIONS
Hi. It's me. I've decided to hand out some awards, which once again, don't matter and will probably be wrong. Also I think I should predict the playoffs and Super Bowl participants.
MVP:
AARON RODGERS, PACKERS: Duh. This was so easy. The Packers are perfect, and Rodgers is the reason. The Packers don't have a great running game, which means defenses know what they will do. And Rodgers has still been unstoppable. I mean, come on, this guy is ridiculous. He is destroying all defenses, as evidenced by the fantasy points he gives to me!
OFFENSIVE POY:
CALVIN JOHNSON, LIONS: Ok, this should probably be Rodgers, but it's against my religion to give one person more than 1 award, so, sorry Aaron. However, Johnson isn't a bad second choice. He has been practically unstoppable this season, with 47 catches, 804 yards, and 11 touchdowns! Those numbers are surreal, and Calvin Johnson could (possibly) break Randy Moss' record of 23 receiving touchdowns.
DEFENSIVE POY:
DARRELLE REVIS, JETS: I actually had no idea who should have won this award, so I just looked up Revis' stats, liked them, and gave the worthless award to him. He has 4 interceptions, which is a pretty surprising number considering teams should never throw the ball anywhere near the dude.
OFFENSIVE ROY:
ANDY DALTON, BENGALS: The Bengals are 6-2, and Dalton has been really good. I'm not saying he is why they are 6-2, but he is a large chunk of the reason. Cam Newton may have better numbers, but the Panthers are 2-6, which makes his numbers basically worthless. Heck, I'd even put AJ Green above Newton in this award.
DEFENSIVE ROY:
PATRICK PETERSON, CARDINALS: This guy just clinched the award yesterday. Seriously, watch this. Even though it was a partially stupid decision to return it at the 1 yards line, it worked! He has 3 punt return touchdowns this year, and he has 2 interceptions, which isn't too shabby. I have a feeling that this is the next Devin Hester, except he actually plays a position besides returner.
PLAYOFF STUFF:
NFC NORTH: Green Bay Packers
NFC SOUTH: Atlanta Falcons
NFC EAST: New York Giants
NFC WEST: San Francisco 49ers
WILD-CARDS: New Orleans Saints, Detroit Lions
AFC NORTH: Baltimore Ravens
AFC SOUTH: Houston Texans
AFC EAST: New York Jets
AFC WEST: San Diego Chargers?
WILD-CARDS: New England Patriots, Cincinnati Bengals
SUPER BOWL: Packers over Ravens

WORLD SERIES
Hello all. It has been a while, hasn't it? Anyway, let's get down to business. The World Series is on Wednesday, which is pretty cool, I guess. I feel obligated to write about such an event because I write about sports stuff often. This year's World Series pits the Texas Rangers, who were there last year too, and the St. Louis Cardinals, who last went to the World Series all the way back in 2006 (they won). I actually don't know who I think will win yet, but I expect to know by the end of this column!
TEXAS RANGERS:
The Rangers finished the regular season 96-66, winning the AL West by 10 games. They entered the playoffs as the 2 seed, behind only the mighty (buy all their talent) Yankees. The Rangers beat the upstart Rays 3-1 in the ALDS, and beat the Tigers 4-2 in the ALCS, led by the crazy-good Nelson Cruz in that series. The Rangers lineup is loaded, Nelson Cruz (who had 6 home runs. 6!!!) was the 7th hitter in the lineup. I honestly don't see a weak spot in this lineup, unlike most teams in the MLB. The Rangers pitching has not been brilliant during the postseason, but it showed flashes during the regular season, and I wouldn't be surprised if those "flashes" came back.
ST. LOUIS CARDINALS:
The Cardinals have been an underdog this entire season. This team didn't even win their division, they made it in as the wild-card. And they only made it in as the wild-card because the Braves swallowed something a little too big and CHOKED. I guess they will take it however they can get it, though. The Cardinals beat the best regular season team in baseball (the Phillies) 3-2. The 5th game was a gem pitched by Chris Carpenter. He allowed only 3 hits in a complete game shutout. The final score was 1-o. which mean he was the difference. The Cardinals been beat their division rival Milwaukee Brewers 4-2 in the NLCS, led by David Freese (who?). I think the Cardinals pitching is a tad better then the Rangers', but I don't think they have the bats to stay close, even though Albert Pujols is the best player I have ever seen, which is quite an honor coming from a 17 year old.
MY PICK:
Rangers, in 6 games.

I HATE THE NFL
Hi. It's me, Pablo the Hispanic gardener. Actually, it's just Alex. I'm not cool enough to have any cool guest writers. As you should know, I like sports. Also, I like the INDIANAPOLIS COLTS, which is not good this year. Peyton Manning, obviously the most valuable player in NFL history after the first 2 weeks of the season, had neck surgery. It was supposedly "minor" surgery, but the prolonged lockout kept him away from the Colts trainers, which messed with his recovery. Then, bad turned to worse. Manning had a SECOND surgery just before the season started, and he will be out 2-3 months. Which means bad things for me, the Colts fan. That means the Colts will be a running team, which is bad because A) the Colts Offensive lineman are pass-blockers and B) I don't trust Joseph Addai, Donald Brown, and some rookie from Syracuse. Also the Colts have Kerry Collins, the old fart quarterback. Actually, he looks like this, but that isn't much better. Collins was actually retired this season, and now he's the quarterback for one of the most complexes offenses in the history of the NFL? Ok, that's awesome. I don't doubt Collins ability as a player, he must be alright if he's been playing for 1,000 years. I doubt his knowledge of the system No quarterback in NFL history could run this offense to the level that Manning does, not even you, Tom Brady. Don't even get me started on their Defense. They are built to play while they are ahead, and they won't be ahead much with Collins as QB. I think I'll just fall asleep and wake up next June, after the Colts have a high draft pick and draft an awesome player (Andrew Luck?). Well that's all that's on my mind.
Bye,

GUESS WHO'S BACK!?!?!?!
HELLO! It's been quite a while hasn't it. I have had some minor- actually humongous- technical difficulties (a broken spacebar). But now, I am back, so you can all bask in my glory. Done basking? No? I'll wait..... Ok, now you're done. But yeah, I'm going to keep going with it this time, as long as my computer doesn't decide to take over the world, or have a broken spacebar. So do all my previous readers, it's good to be back. And to all my new followers (if there is any), I'm Alex and I would like to be your friend. Actually, that's creepy, just read my blog, and be happy. I'll talk about sports and music and I'll try to be funny and I'll talk about STUFF, hence my title "Alex talks about STUFF". That is all.
Adios,

Really Cool!
Well, as most of you know, the Super Bowl is today. The Steelers are going for number 7 (should be 2 or 3) and the Packers are going for number 4. But, one player from the Packers could care less about the game, or the number of titles for either team. His name? Jarius Wynn, and backup defensive end. Now, most players are not able to sleep the night before the Super Bowl, but he couldn't sleep for a completely different reason: His wife gave birth to a healthy baby boy. I just find this awesome. The should-be biggest moment of his life (the Super Bowl) just became an afterthought. Now, the kid, if the Packers win, would have the name of Super, which would be AWESOME. Jarius Super Wynn? Oh, yes.

I Hand Out My NFL Awards!!
Well, football season is almost over (sad face), but the positive? I GET TO HAND OUT SOME COMPLETELY WORTHLESS AWARDS THAT HAVE NO MONETARY VALUE!!! Go moral victories! But, now on to the good stuff:
MVP:
TOM BRADY, PATRIOTS: As much as it pains me to say it, he wins. He did exceptional during a 14-2 regular season, throwing for 3900 yards, 36 touchdowns, and only 4 interceptions. He did so without really having a proven deep threat (Brandon Tate doesn't count, he's not PROVEN.) However, his numbers were inflated (like they always are) by a simple passing scheme, consisted of throwing a 5-7 yard pass and watching his receivers do the work.
OFFENSIVE POY:
JAMAAL CHARLES, CHIEFS: This decision came after much contemplating and many sleepless minutes of blood, sweat, and tears by myself. I give the award to Charles, mainly because he beasted it up. His 6.4 yards per carry was the best average since Jim Brown in the 60s, who may be the greatest running back of all time. Charles finished only 149 yards behind rushing leader Arian Foster, despite having 97 fewer carries. Add in his pass catching skills, and it ended up being a no-brainer.
DEFENSIVE POY:
CLAY MATTHEWS, PACKERS: Matthews was the most dominating defensive player this season. He made big plays seemingly every quarter, and you knew it was going to happen. The sad thing is, Troy Polamalu was the player who won the award, which is a bunch of bull****. Polamalu wasn't even the best safety in his own conference (Ed Reed) nor the best defensive back in the NFL (Charles Woodson, Darrelle Revis, Antoine Bethea), but the stupid voters gave it to the least-deserving player. But we all know who should have won.
OFFENSIVE ROY:
SAM BRADFORD, RAMS: Bradford took a team that had just picked 1st overall (that's bad) to being one game away from a playoff berth (that's good.) He did so in a rookie-friendly offensive system, consisting of screens, slants, play actions, and draws. Bradford will be the best quarterback in the NFL in 5 years. Mark my words.
DEFENSIVE POY:
TIE: ERIC BERRY, CHIEFS/NDAMUKONG SUH, LIONS: This took the most thought. Both rookies played well, and I just couldn't pick between the two. Suh had 10 sacks (great for a DT) and Berry had 90 tackles and 4 picks (really good for a rookie safety.) Both players played so well and were so important to their teams. It looks as if they both get a moral victory!
Well, that's it for now. I'll have some more awards soon, including some gag awards and funny stuff possibly!

College Basketball
I was originally planning on writing some article about my opinion on what the NFL All-Pro team should be. However, something extraordinary happened: Indiana University came back to the national spotlight. Tom Crean (IU coach) won his first game against a ranked team since he's been at Indiana. Now, for those of you who don't know, I'm a big Purdue fan. Most of you Iowans don't understand the hatred between those two groups of fans. I guess it could be similar to that of Democrats and Republicans. They never agree, and they try to do whatever it takes to drag down the other group. But, something strange happened during the thrilling game, I was PULLING FOR INDIANA!!!! I was awestruck at how a bunch of no-names (the two best players on the team didn't even play) could beat a team that nearly beat the number 1 team in the country on Saturday. In the past, IU had come close to beating good teams, but always faded late, and could never quite pull out as the victor. But something different happened tonight. Their shots were falling, they were hitting their free throws, and they didn't fold under pressure as they had done so many times before. This was a team that was just soundly defeated by IOWA, who is terrible. The team should have had no chance in the game, and they hung tough, and eventually won. The atmosphere at Assembly Hall was unbelievable. Through all the terrible years this once-proud team had suffered through, the fans always showed up, and always rooted on the Hoosiers. And tonight, the fans finally got what they had so long desired: a marquee victory. Now, expect Indiana to return to greatness. Not this season, but next. They have a talented group of recruits coming in, and they should pull in even more after this. This team will be good for years to come. And I'm glad. As a Purdue fan, I could be scared, but I've got to face the facts: IU is back, and I'll be pulling for them all the way.

I've Got Nothing
Well, today was a very boring day. I woke up in the morning feeling like P Diddy..... not really, that's sarcasm. I had school, then nothing, and the the ALL POWERFUL JAZZ BAND. It was cool, and we sound pretty darn good if I'm allowed to say so without sounding like a complete ignorant buffoon. After jazz band, I walked in the living room and saw President Obama delivering the State of the Union Address. And guess what? NOBODY CARES!!!!! HOORAY FOR LAZY PEOPLE WHO DON'T CARE ABOUT THE WELL-BEING OF THEIR COUNTRY!! GET SOME!!! As of now, my mom is cutting coupons she printed off the computer and that's all I hear. Paper being cut. The monotonous tone is very tiring, and a wee bit annoying. I plan on going downstairs to my room soon and going to sleep. Before I sleep, I use my iPod and watch videos on YouTube (music videos or Pokemon videos, I know, I'm a fool). Well, nothing humorous is popping into my head, so I have no idea what to say. Maybe I'll post a link to a sweet song or something.

COOL SONG
Alright, so as of now I am absolutely IN LOVE with a pretty awesome song (I don't mean to sound like a chick.) So, it's called "Fix You" by Coldplay, and its just swell. I'm listening to it as I'm typing this oh-so-popular blog (SARCASM), and I'm happy, even though its 10:41 PM. I've decided to be nice and include some SWEET links for the two people who may check this out (high-five to Maddie and Cody!)

First Reaction: Super Bowl 45
Alright, so it's been about 90 minutes since we've known who will be going to Arlington, Texas to participate in Super Bowl 45. As I predicted from the NFC, it's the Green Bay Packers. However, it's not the Ravens from the AFC, but the 6-time Super Bowl Champion, Pittsburgh Steelers. This should be an entertaining game. Here's my analysis.
GREEN BAY:
The Packers made it to the Super Bowl without too much trouble. First the beat the Mike- I can't throw worth a crap but I have Desean Jackson to run after my errant passes- Vick led Eagles. The Packers led this game throughout, but the game was not clinched until Tramon Williams (the Packers defensive MVP thus far in the playoffs) picked off a Mike Vick pass in the end zone. The Packers pressured Vick and forced him to throw before he wanted. Against the Falcons, the Packers flat out DOMINATED. They beat the number 1 seed, without too much trouble. Against the Bears, it was much of the same. They jumped out to a quick 14-0 lead, and really never looked back. The D made plays when they had to, and Aaron Rodgers was his normal self. Managing the game and throwing catchable strikes to his receivers. They will need more of the same against the Steelers. The Packers should be able to throw the ball fairly easily against the weak Steelers corners, and the could catch Troy Polamalu out of position like he has been throughout these playoffs. The Packers' D is stout. The front 3 played awesome recently, and the linebackers are solid enough. The DBs (led by Williams and Woodson) are the X-Factors. They need to stop Wallace from getting deep, and watch out for Antonio Brown.
PITTSBURGH:
The Steelers survived. They came back against the Ravens, and held on late (thanks Boldin and Houshmanzadeh!) to pull out the W. Against the Jets, they held off a furious Jets rally and eeked out a tough win. The Steelers need to run, run, run, and hit some PA passes along the way. Mendenhall has been shakey thus far (eh last week, really tough today), but needs to get the tough yards after contact and not fumble against the Packers tough D.
FINAL:
This game will be good. I really do not know who will win, but I don't know how I can go against the Pack. They have so many weapons, and I'm not sold on the Steelers' corners. If Mark Sanchez can play well, there is no telling what Aaron Rodgers can do.
MY PICK:
Packers 34, Steelers 28
